Chenin Blanc

This is a small winery that is off the beaten path, but well worth the trip. Not only do they have some delightful wines, but you'll enjoy the "homey" atmosphere of the wine tasting room. They have many other amenities you may also want to investigate.

This winery is the largest variety port producer in the United States.

Tasting hours: Weekends - Noon to 5:00 p.m.

Listed wines and/or vintages may no longer be available. Contact the winery for the most recent releases.

1999 Sauvignon Blanc
A tart, crisp, and zesty wine with apple aroma and flavor.

1999 White Zinfandel
A very flavorful wine that would go well with fruits and cheese. Made entirely from Zinfandel grapes, it has a very fruity taste. Although White Zins are usually quite sweet, we found this wine just right and very refreshing.

1996 Zinfandel Reserve
Silver at San Francisco Wine Competition
A very tasty wine with deep plum aroma and flavor. Excellent finish.

1997 "Je t'aime"
This is an interesting wine that reportedly has aphrodisiac qualities. It's made from Meritage grapes and has a very peppery, red cherry aroma. The taste is fruity with hints of spice and a very lingering, smooth finish. The wine owner says this wine "pairs well with a hot tub."

1997 Cabernet Sauvignon
Although a very young red wine, it is drinkable now. The aroma strongly reminded us of a port wine. Boysenberry flavors. An interesting wine.

1997 Zinfandel Late Harvest
This is an excellent dessert wine that is not overpoweringly sweet. We tasted black cherries on the tongue with hints of pepper and tobacco.

Other wines produced by this winery include Chardonnay, White Riesling, Merlot, Petite Sirah, and Champagne.

Not all wines were available for tasting.
