2002 Semillon/Chardonnay
Honey, fresh apples, and oak in the nose, citrus fruits and oak
in the mouth, and fig on the finish.
2001 White Vendimia
A Bordeaux-style blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Malvasia Bianca,
and Orange Muscat produced an aroma of oranges with a bit of melon
in the mouth. A swoosh of pears on the finish.
2002 Tempranillo
Made with a Spanish grape, this wine was different, but quite good.
We noticed blackberries in the aroma with earthy and light tobacco
flavors. Dramatic finish, but not necessarily lingering.
2001 Zarzuela
An interesting blend of Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Petite Verdot,
Barbera, and Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine reminded us very much
of a Cabernet. Ripe blackberries in the mouth with a touch of anise
in the finish. A rich tannin structure means this wine will improve
with age. Would go well with red meats.
1998 Zinfandel
Not as spicy as most Zins, but a nice flavor of currant and ripe
red cherries. Nice mouth feel.
1999 Red Vendimia
Another Bordeaux-style blended wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot,
Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot), the aroma and flavor reminded us
of cherries and spices. This is a pleasant wine.
